"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."- Marilyn Monroe

the girl

She's trying to fit in, really she is.  She walks around school in a cotton blue button up shirt and dark jeans.  She eats alone in the cafeteria, on the chair closest to the window, hardly anyone normal sits at her same table.  She looks at no one, she talks to no one, she thinks of no one.  She finishes half her apple, drinks half of her milk, and finishes off her potatoes.  She walks out the doors, passes hundreds of kids, and yet talks to none of them. . . . until a boy says hello, she looks up and sees his pretty green eyes.

Will she say anything back?
Will anything come out of this relationship?
Why doesn't she talk to anyone herself?
Who is this mysterious boy?

Adaption

Without a Word - Birdy

I won't say anything, nothing at all.  I will just stay here. He says he's leaving. He doesn't know what to say, I will just watch him leave, and say nothing.  "We can fix this." The words just pierce her.  They stand staring, not knowing when, or even why to move.  Show me what to do. Without a word.

Something - Jim Sturgess version

There's something about her, the way her hair falls in her face, I can't resist.  She's in control.  We're stuck in this moment, I can't leave.  She smiles and I get lost.  Whatever it is, it keeps me here, there's no way I could be with anyone else, I don't know what it is.  I don't know anything.  I'm lost, in that something.

Imagine - Jack Johnson Version

We are who we are, take it or leave it.  Imagine we're all that's left, scratch that, we're all that's here.  It's you and me.  We are free.  You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I am not the only one.  We are all one, we have nothing but ourselves and each other, there's no need for anything else, we are all there is.

Trapped

She falls, and doesn't want to get up, why? Because if she gets up she'll have to prepare herself for another hit. . . If she stays down, he just might back off, that's what she's hoping for.  He hits. He hits her. He hits her a lot.  She can't do anything about it, she waits for him to leave the room before she gets back up, then she walks to the window and stares at the bright lights of the city that never sleeps.  She's trapped.  She thinks she can't do anything about it.  Her mother says to call the police, but she knows that will only make things worse.  So she doesn't.  She cries herself to sleep, and dreams of running away, with her baby girl.  Far away.  Somewhere where he will NEVER find them.  She sleeps for 3 short hours and wakes up to the sounds of sirens, they're down the street, but she can hear the screams, the cries of those hurting.  She wants to join them, but she doesn't dare.  So she sits there, for another 4 hours staring at the wall, wishing she wasn't.
